Francois and Monika's apartments are located in a small fishing village on the island of Krk called Punat. This island is easily accessible because it is connected by a bridge. You will be seduced by the charm of the small seaside villages and the many beaches and coves that you will find all along the coast of the island. ACTIVITIES It is possible to rent a: car, bike, motor boat, sailboat, canoe, sea kayak, quad, scooter, jet ski, boat towed buoys, pool slides, etc.

BEACHES You will be 100m from the sea and the first beaches are a 15 minute walk away, a beautiful walk along the sea. There are concrete beaches, gravel, pebble ... There is a small train to take people to the beaches. Punat is located in the center of the island of Krk which allows you to reach all places on the island in a max 25 min drive. There is only one sandy beach on the island and it is 15 minutes by car.

This beach of "black mud" is located in another bay of the island (in Klimno 20min by car), this mud is known to be healing, especially for the nervous system. It must be spread on the body, left to dry in the sun, and then rinsed off. The smell left on the skin is not very pleasant, but afterwards the skin is soft; it is also a very nice outing for the children and perfect for playing beach games because the water in this place is shallow and therefore very hot in summer (30 °).

HIKES There are some great hikes on the island and from the apartments you can access these trails. These paths take you to the top of the island 540m above the sea, you will have a panoramic view of all the islands, it is splendid!

WAKEBOARD We are 5 minutes from a ski lift in the bay of Punat; possible to wakeboard and go water skiing and windsurfing when there is a bit of wind. http://www.wakeboarder.hr/

BOAT BOATING From Punat you have boat trips around the islands. Also there's the possibility to rent a boat or a "taxi boat" to take you to the beaches and coves inaccessible on foot or by car. http://www.rent-a-boat-punat.com/

AROUND KRK ISLAND: The advantage of the island of Krk is that it is connected by a bridge so it is easy to get in and out, you will not have to depend on the ferry schedule. Opatija, city nicknamed the Croatian "Monte Carlo", is 1h30 by car, it is full of history and is a worldly and international seaside resort. If you want to visit other islands from Krk, island Cres and Lošinj can be visited by car in 1 day, a ferry is 15 minutes from Punat, 30 minute journey (located in Valbinska).

Rab Island is also accessible from Valbinska. The Istrian peninsula is known for its beautiful coastline with Rovinj, good food, white truffles and hilltop villages.
Brijuni Island National Park is a 2 hour drive away. The Plitvice Lakes are 3 hours away. Zagreb is 2 hours away. Zadar is 3 hrs away.
