What to visit ?

Island of Brac

Located at 3:15 of Dubrovnik, or 2 hours from Pakostane (Zadar), we will visit the island on the road between Split and Dubrovnik.

Stop at Makarska and take the ferry to Sumartin. Or take the ferry from Split (more expensive).

This island is beautiful, you'll love the country roads on the top of the hill overlooking the island, sea view from 2 sides of the road, beautiful, untouched nature, small villages of stone, beautiful stone villas with swimming pool, small fishing villages. The island is famous for its stone quarries! The white stone of Brac is popular and it has been used to build the Diocletian palace, houses of Split, but also to the Reichstag in Berlin, Vienna, Budapest, the Vatican and the White House ....! There would still be enough stone to provide demand until 2200!

The island is also known for its sandy beach in Bol. It is the most famous resort of the island where Zlatni rat beach is located, one of the most photographed in the shape of golden horn beaches! Still crowded in summer! Many monasteries are located on the island : Bol Dominican monastery and its museum, the Hermitage of Blaca ... Personally I much prefer all the small villages surrounding the island: Milna, Sumartin, Selca, Pucisca etc ... These villages are very charming with their stone house and small port. you will come in the  island to rest, not to visit the mainland cities. The boat is enough expensive.
